Cosmetic Dentistry Marketing Examples

In two days dining out in NYC I observed many examples of marketing that we can apply to dentistry.  Its information we already know but it hammers home the importance of using common sense principles to apply in your dental practice.  First example, I was dining at an Indian restaurant in Midtown Manhattan on the patio and observed two couples that had obviously not decided on a restaurant but were simply strolling through town. The restaurant had all the PR they've had over the years plastered on the front door. Both couples stopped walked up to the door and read some of the articles.  The PR validated the restaurant as a worthy place to dine.  If you've had any PR over the years, even a clip from the local newspaper or a plug on the radio make sure you let prospective patients see it.  Place your PR on your dental website, make sure its on the walls of your office and consult rooms and you'll notice a difference with respect to case acceptance.  Always make sure its okay to use the PR.

The second example was having brunch at another mid-town restaurant out on the patio "Rue 67" to be exact.  We were enjoying the warm weather so eating outside was a theme on our last visit.  There were about 5 tables that were set up along the sidewalk on 67th.  My wife and I observed 3 couples walking briskly by the tables and glancing down at the plates as the walked by. By the time they got to our table (the end) they looked at the incredible presentation on the French toast plate sitting at the end of our table and their eyes popped out.  We observed three couples literally stop in their tracks, have a quick conversation and very quickly walked back to the front door of the restaurant and became customers.

The moral of the story is this.  If you are offering smile makeovers as a service and you are marketing cosmetic dentistry in general make sure you take lots of before and after photos of your cases.  Showcase your work, a picture says a thousand words and nothing shows what a cosmetic dentist does better than a smile makeover gallery.  The presentation is also important, the way this french toast was presented was amazing was ultimately what lured them into the restaurant.  Use professional photography or an enhanced dental video website
